On July 19th, the State Grid Corporation of China (Changzhou) Electrical Equipment Testing Center, which was constructed and operated by State Grid Electric Power Research Institute, broke ground in Changzhou National High tech Industrial Development Zone. This project will build a world-class electrical equipment testing and testing base with high-power stations as the core, promoting the overall technical level and international competitiveness of China's transmission and transformation equipment manufacturing industry.
The first phase of the State Grid Corporation of China (Changzhou) Electrical Equipment Testing Center project is planned to cover an area of 200 acres, with a construction period of 5 years and a total investment of 1.43 billion yuan. It consists of four parts: a high-power testing station, an ultra-high voltage testing hall, an environmental machinery testing hall, and a DC testing hall. It provides quality testing, type testing, product appraisal, quality arbitration, and other services for electrical equipment of various voltage levels.
At present, the detection capability of high-voltage electrical equipment in China seriously lags behind the needs of power grid construction, especially with the deepening of China's smart grid strategy, having independent research and development capabilities for ultra-high voltage key electrical equipment, and obtaining international discourse power in the field of high-voltage electrical equipment, is of great significance for the localization of major key equipment in the smart grid.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, Xiao Shijie, President of State Grid Electric Power Research Institute, and Wang Weicheng, Mayor of Changzhou Municipal People's Government, respectively signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement on behalf of both parties. Officials from Jiangsu Province, State Grid Corporation of China, Jiangsu Electric Power Company, Changzhou Municipal Party Committee and Government, and the National Certification and Accreditation Administration attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
