From March 6th to 7th, 2010, the Electrical Equipment Testing Center of State Grid Electric Power Research Institute successfully passed the laboratory accreditation supervision review organized by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS). The evaluation team experts conducted on-site evaluations of 8 quality inspection stations and 2 laboratories in the Electrical Equipment Testing Center, focusing on inspections in terms of documents, records, measurement traceability, and facility environment. Through on-site evaluation, the evaluation team experts fully affirmed and highly praised the laboratory quality management work of the Center, believing that the management system and technical capabilities of the Electrical Equipment Testing Center laboratory meet the requirements of CNAS accreditation and maintain the scope of CNAS accreditation.

The Electrical Equipment Quality Testing Center is responsible for conducting quality testing on the main electrical products used in power production, assisting relevant departments of State Grid Corporation of China in accident analysis of operating equipment, and also responsible for 3C certification testing of low-voltage switchgear, leakage circuit breakers, etc. It was recognized by CNAS in 2000. All previous CNAS supervision reviews have shown that the quality management system of the Electrical Equipment Testing Center laboratory is sound, the quality management system and laboratory accreditation criteria are effectively implemented, and the quality of testing and calibration services is continuously improving. In 2009, the Electrical Equipment Testing Center set the goal of becoming a fully professional, internationally renowned, and domestically leading authoritative laboratory. The organizational structure and personnel responsibilities were adjusted, and the quality manual and procedural documents were revised in a timely manner. Experts were organized to conduct a new round of specialized training for quality system management personnel in the laboratory for a week. Subsequently, multiple self inspections were conducted, focusing on laboratory comparison, capability verification, uncertainty assessment, standard novelty check, equipment leasing, and other aspects. According to the plan, an internal audit of the management system was conducted in September 2009, and a management review was implemented in December.

The China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment is a national accreditation body approved and authorized by the State Administration for Accreditation and Supervision, responsible for the accreditation of certification bodies, laboratories, and inspection institutions.
